Boxing Day KTV

Met up with ma usual poly classmates (chew chew, ping, kelvin, quan, cls)  for KTV at Sembawang HomeTeam NS. Upon reaching there, which looked familiar, i realised that i have actually been there for chalet some 2 yrs back, except i didnt realise that they have KTV there.

Had lots of fun at the KTV, although I didnt sing much cos' i couldnt really pronounce the traditional chinese words.

I will fast forward to this part which really caught ma attention the whole day. We have been sayin about who's gonna be the next person to get married. And then suddenly the ball has been passed to me, when im not even in the topic of interest. The rest asked whether i ever had a gf before, and i said "No". on and on it goes... about later in life without a partner. Kelvin even said tat he might not even get married either, which of cuz i think its highly unlikely.. wahahhaha. I kept pondering about this issue, whether in future will i even get a chance to experience married life, which many says it's the tomb of love. I feel that in order to enjoy a blissful marriage, both sides haf to give way to each other. Husbands should be more magnanimous and be more gentlymantly towards wives. Wives should also be more forgiving towards their hubbies. Coming to think of ma situation, perhaps i have to resign to ma fate. If i cant find one or something, so be it. Being a  Bachelor is nothing bad, except that he's unable to experience married life, unable to change the diapers of his baby, and watch his kid grow. Due to this, I took the longer way from sembawang mrt to paya lebar, pondering abt this the whole trip. sian man... perhaps, ONE DAY...!

10.12.09

Went to Singapore Flyer today, but prior to that, mel and me arranged to meet 1pm at National Library as he wanna borrow some books. In the end, both of us were late, but he was later than me. lol. I went to St. Joseph's Church when he called me to sae that he wanna go to the Temple at Waterloo St. first, which struck on me, else I wouldn't have thought of going to Church. Took some pictures of the figurines there, which were so beautiful. I kinda like the old-style church compared to those modern ones, which look very much like shopping centres.
After walking around for a while, crossed back to the library, and then walking around the lobby area, I was so cock-eye that I couldn't see melvin who was standing right in front of me! and then there goes the blah blah blah...

We then headed over to Marina Bay area, but prior to that again, I brought him up to this place where ma present classmates and i used to go, 'Loof', located at the rooftop of Odeon Towers. Naturally, it was locked, but it's just meant to show him tat this place does exists, so that he can bring his bf there in future. hahhaa.. walked down to Marina Square where we had a late lunch, followed by walking around the mall before heading over to the highlight of the day: SINGAPORE FLYER!!!

We reached the flyer at around 6.30pm. Tickets costs 10bux because we enjoyed the student promotion, valid only on weekdays. The security check was crazi.. so many ppl in the queue. And they also gave priority to a private event, whereby there are so many ppl, who just cut queue, into the already very very long normal visitor's queue. WTF. So what if its private event or normal visitors!!
Took some really really nice shots in the capsule. Check it out....!

After 'landing' from the flight, we went down to Plaza Singapura to meet up with SC for dinner at Waraku, of which, 40bux is by Waraku's compliments. Dinner was so filling as mel couldn't finish his portion and so, i did ma part as a good fren, to help him finish his portion! WAHAHHAHAHAHHA!!!

Genting Highlands - Kuala Lumpur - Malacca (05.12.09 - 06.12.09)

Day 1

Didn't sleep for the whole night as I was too excited about the drive-up trip to Genting Highlands and KL. We arranged to meet at 4.15am near ma house. The car arrived and I drove to Tanah Merah to fetch melvin and then to Queensway to fetch SC. After that was expressway to Tuas Secondlink. We reached the Malaysian side at around 6.15am.
I drove the first leg which was about 200km, then wc took over, and mel drove the genting leg. The whole trip towards Genting took 4 hours. The road to Genting Highlands was extremely dangerous as the mountain was extremely foggy. When we arrived at Genting, we headed straight to the casino. Initially planned to go for theme park, but it was raining. This is the second time when I went to genting and it was raining. However, even if it wasn't raining, i would still not go for the rides as im scared of heights. Mel and me didn't gamble, and we went to a cafe to slack until the rest are done with their gambling. After casino, we then headed to the Genting Skyway for a joy ride. It's also the second time i sat on this ride. When we landed on the other side, went to check out the horse ride, but too bad it had ceased operations. Jalan Jalan around the area, then headed back to First World hotel where out car was parked, and then went down mountain to our hotel. We went to the wrong hotel, Goh Tong Residence Hall, instead of Chin Swee, which we passed by far far away. In the end, instead of checking in at 3pm, we reached at 4pm. Rested for a while in the room, before we headed back out towards Kuala Lumpur for shopping and clubbing at night.
Driving down to KL was horrendous!!! so many cars, traffic jam, faded road markings, notorious drivers, confusing road and directional signs, plus, the GPS gave quite confusing warnings as well. It lagged by 100m, and when it said "Turn left now", there is either no turn, or a small lane!! I had to make last minute manoeuvres swervings in the terrible downtown traffic of KL. But nevertheless, it pays to have a GPS unit when driving overseas.
I parked the car at Berjaya Times Square, and off to shopping. SC wanted to go shopping alone, but then i thought that it was dangerous for a gal to shop alone in a notorious town unless it's KLCC. So I decided to accompany her walk ard, while the rest of the guys went on their own. When we met up, headed for KL Zouk. This time, wc drove as I was too tired and kinda depressed to drive in the stupid traffic. I was sooo shagged that i slept in the car for a good 40+ mins according to han rong, and totally oblivious to ma surroundings. When i woke up, we were somewhere near Zouk KL, which is situated near KLCC. Zouk KL is soooo high, its been years since I last clubbed. totally brought back memories when we (mel, sc, me) clubbed at MS. We roamed the club, then stayed put at Velvet Undergound. Partied till around 1.30am, and since it was kinda late, and wc wanted to go rest in the car, mel decided that we shld be gg off as well. sian man, the songs were beginning to reach the climax, and everyone was beginning to get high. Too bad, next time shall visit Zouk KL again. WC drove us back to hotel, and the night fog seems to be worse than the day.

Day 2

Woke up at around 9.30am, then went downstairs to catch the attractions which the temple offers. All of them went to pray, while i just stayed and watch. It's a sunday, and im supposed to be in Church, however this time round, im in a temple. Checked out at 12pm, then I drove down to KL Sentral again, this time it was sooo much smoother for me, and I could navigate easily. On the way to KLCC, we lunched at this rest point, which almost all the stalls sell Nasi Padang. Mel was saying that they shouldn't sell the same thing, as in a perfect competition, the stall vendors will earn zero profit or a normal profit!! And then, when we departed to KLCC, guess what, one car horn at us, and i was thinking WTF, horn simi lan, nvr obstuct or whatever, then wc realised that our boot wasnt closed!! I had to make an emergency stop at the road shoulder and close the boot!! DAMMMMM PAI SEH MAN!!!!! Parked at Suria KLCC, and then off to more shopping. After shopping, we decided to head back to Singapore. And I drove again. hahaha... On the way, we stopped over at Malacca for dinner. I ordered some chicken in Thai style, which was the worse i ever tasted. No time to explore Malacca though as it was already evening then. Too bad oso... but from the surface, its quite a sleepy town. And then once again, i drove back heading to SG, until some rest point when wc took over. pics will be uploaded on FB soon! stay tuned!! =D

03.12.09

Today, results are being released at about 8am. I was satisfied with my results, after spending the past weeks in Changi Airport with mel, and occasionally with SC. I have no complaints about my results.
Relaxed for the whole morning, then went to out to meet SC in Chinatown to change money, which supposedly provides better exchange rates. However, the money changers at parkway parade near my area provides marginally better rate, without having to participate in a snaking queue. hehehe....

I reached town quite early. Went to Hong Lim Complex to have my favourite vegetarian food, which only costs $2.50, with a huge serving. It's cheap. Hong Lim Complex also has many many other nice food. This is also the place where I used to go for lunch during my 5-month attachment stint at Havelock Road. After lunch, i literally walked down memory lane, while waiting for SC. Visited and walked through those areas where i been to during my attachment, and even went to Central Mall, where my office was. I REALLY MISSED THOSE TIMES!!! although the work was very tough then, but it was fun, with great colleagues and the people who rendered help, especially the other NTU interns. Finally after all the walking, it was beginning to rain, and i hurried down to Furama Hotel to chill out at the hotel lobby, which i somehow always like to. SC finally arrived around 3.45pm, and that's when the q-ing starts at the money changer.

GONNA COLLECT CAR TML LIAOZ!!! YAY!!! First stop wud be ECP to warm up, after yrs of dormant driving. And the next morning, at 5am, TUAS CHECKPOINT!! break virgin liao lo!! hahahahhahaha =p

26.11.09

Idling around with melvin at Centerpoint's starbucks, though he's studyin at another table cos theres a handsome dude beside his table. Yesterday was quite a long and tiring day. Went to clarke quary mrt to meet up with the gals (joyce, ruby, sarah and karen) for an sgcares volunteer orientation at Central. It was a short orientation, only  an hour 30mins, but the speaker took less than that to finish off the briefing. In the end, we were dismissed at 11.45am instead of 12 noon. Crossed over to Fisherman's Wharves for lunch and mj joined in. settled there until abt 1.30pm, den we went to Ang Siang Hill, somewhere near maxwell food center since the gals are interested to check out the fashion stuff. It was a long walk with super duper hot weather. In the shops, the air-con felt like nothing. I guess the weather was around 33 degrees, which is similar to today's. If only sg can snow, just like in beijing now. That would be so good man! during the walk, snapped some pics along the way.

After walking ard Ang Siang Hill Road, had a drink to quench our dying thirst from the super hot weather, and proceeded to the subway for somerset. Walked from Somerset to Meritus Mandarin Hotel Singapore, dun get the wrong idea hor! haha, we went to the observation lounge on the 38th/39th floor where it offers a 360degrees view of Singapore. Wanted to go to the 39th floor but was prevented by some staff. Here are some pics taken there, which are similar to those taken when i was with melvin last wk.

After hanging around in the lounge and cam-whoring for sometime, we went over to Paragon supposedly to see if linnet is workin there, but too bad she aint there, so we went over to lucky plaza for some cheap dinner, since lunch already set us back by quite a sum. After dinner, cam-whoring again along the Christmas figurines along Orchard road, and finally settled down at dr. cafe coffee. sat on the super comfy chair before finally gg back home. And thats when it got me kinda pissed off. Bloodi svc 16 came onli after 30mins of wait, and orchard was all jammed up. in the end, from orchard to joo chiat took freaking 1hr, when the normal bus ride was at most 30mins long! fuck!

im now waitin for time to pass, for dinner later, and meeting SC later to go ion again!

another comment on TV

Stumbled upon this comment on channel 8's 7pm drama which says: "Kind-hearted are easily manipulated by other people". How true this sentence is!! This has happened to me many times. and that was the reason why i wanna change into ma old self.
Therefore, one must learn to be hard-hearted and not soft-hearted, not to be too willing to give into others, and only then can one be successful.

17.11.09

Wednesday, met up with melvin at Somerset MRT station at 1215 supposedly, but he arrived at 1235 instead. We then proceeded to Cuppage Plaza for the mee pok i had many times when i was doin ma DC project at Orchard Central during the semester. After the mee pok, we went to our destination; MERITUS MANDARIN HOTEL! omg, its such a wonderful place, great facilities, service, everything like that.  This is the first time I have been in a 5-Star Hotel, although there were many occasions when  I stayed in a 4-Star Hotel.
When we entered our room, just nice the chambermaid was cleanin up the room. After depositing our bags, we went to the observation deck at the 38/39th floor. It is a restaurant which spans 2 levels; we settled down on the 39th floor. Initially I thought that it was a good place to study in future, since it was so quiet with very scenic views 360 degrees around Meritus. pics later down this post.
We sat there for around 30mins to an hour i suppose, then went down to the 5th floor for a dip. swimming was great, except that the pool was sooooooooo veryyyyyyy coldddddd. shivers when we soaked ourselves in it. The pool was also very small and the depth was onli 1.2m. In the midst of swimming, one bridal came to take wedding shots. This is something u wun experience in the neighbourhood swimming complex or condominium poolside while swimming. It was actually quite embarassing, especially at ma size and the thick jacket i have around me.
we took our pool towel upstairs to our room, then mel made his foam bath first. he bathed for more than 30mins, and after that was ma turn. ermm, its also actually ma first time doing a foam bath. I spent like 20mins or so, and after that was the water jet spray, which also serves to massage ur back. IT WAS SOOO DAM SHIOK, better than the foam bath i suppose! imagine if I have that at home, ma water bills wud shoot up sky-high.
Shortly after bathing and settling down on the reclining chair, mel's sis and her hubby came back for a while. I was kinda shy though.. hahahaa... We went to Takashimaya food court, mel bought his jap food, and i bought ma mixed veg rice and garlic baguette. We stayed on till around 8.45pm and finally parted ways at somerset mrt. I went to Kaplan find SC, but at 9.03pm ,she was already at winsland house... wow, she muz have flew there or telepported there... haha, too much of
Fringe and teleportation. Wanted to show her our gay-like pics, but then she chao liao.
And then i walked to PS Carrefour check out any last-min offers, and then I saw this walnut cake, selling for $3.50 'buy 1 get 1 free'. coollll~~
And after that, was 16 back home. long day, bt fun! Thanks ah mel for bringing me to check in with u into the hotel! WHAHAHAHHAHAHHAAH

18.11.09

Caught up one phrase while watching the Channel 8 drama now; Kindness begets Kindness, it makes the world a better place.
